Kaporal is committed

Every year in France, we throw out tens of thousands of pairs of jeans that are unwanted, outdated, too worn, too faded, or even too holey... these unloved jeans don't get a chance at a second life. But Kaporal believes that everyone deserves a shot at redemption! We need to change our consumption habits and reduce our impact on the environment. Thanks to you, it's already happening: we collect an average of 10,000 pairs of jeans each year that we are able to feed back into the circular economy.

Kaporal supports creativity

Every season, our in-store collection programme allows us to transform old denim into something new, working alongside French clothing workshops and a young fashion talent who is responsible for the artistic direction of the capsule collection. We take the raw materials and turn them into 100% upcycled exclusive, limited-edition designs.

Made in Marseille

To proclaim their love for their home town, Kaporal is shining a spotlight on the Marseille fashion industry. How? By putting 13 A’tipik, an inclusive Marseille workshop specialising in textile manufacturing, at the heart of the collection. Each upcycled piece is designed and created in their workshop in the Phocaean City.

Total transformation

Many of the jeans we collect are actually recycled by our partner, LE RELAIS. In addition to recycling and donating the jeans, LE RELAIS is also able to transform them into eco-friendly thermal and acoustic insulation known as "Métisse". 5000 pairs of jeans can insulate up to 5 houses covering 100m2.

This marks the 9 ^th year of Kaporal's in-store campaign to collect old, unloved jeans from any brand. It's very simple. Just bring in your jeans and we will give you a 20 euro discount on a new pair*. Thanks to you, our stores have collected more than 40 tonnes of jeans since 2015 !

The "Kaporal Buys and Recycles your Jeans" is changing its name to "Kaporal Impact RECYCLING" . On your end, nothing has changed: you can still make a conscious choice and be part of the change.

What about the jeans you gave us in 2021?

For our 4 ^th collaboration based on the concept of upcycling, designer Louis-Gabriel Nouchi created a capsule collection made entirely from upcycled denim. Made from a patchwork of raw, light and white denim, the line revolves around "tailor-made" cuts with flowing, oversized and graphic lines. Not designed for a specific gender, the clothes from LGN Louis-Gabriel Nouchi are totally unisex.
