JONATHAN PERRONI
FREESTYLE SCOOTER CHAMPION.

"Hors Cadre is where we get to know personalities who inspire us and who are redefining their field. For this latest series of profiles, we went to meet daring people, right there in their own world. We were drawn by their passion, their personality and their way of thinking outside the box.

It's the type of success story we like here at Kaporal. In 2018, Jonathan Perroni was crowned world champion. Champion in a sport very much on the up: freestyle scooter riding. Inspired by BMX, this extreme sport involves performing acrobatic tricks using a specially reinforced scooter. Jonathan (known as "Pépé" to his friends) discovered scooters for the first time at the age of 10, totally by chance, at the bottom of a block of flats in a Parisian suburb. He joined a world-renowned professional team in 2015, and since then, has just gone from strength to strength. In Barcelona in 2018, the young prodigy was crowned world champion, and soon there will even be a scooter designed by him and bearing his name. But what strikes you most when you meet Jonathan is his enormous smile, his simplicity and his generosity. Seeing him fly through the air with such grace gives you chills, but it is his personality that sweeps you along with him.
